NRA Basic Pistol Course
Skill Level: Beginer
Course Length: Approx. 8 hours -7 hours classroom, 1 hour range time.
Cost: $150/person, $250/couple, includes the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting, range time & fees, exam.
The course is designed to teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and safely operating a pistol. The student will learn the rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, proper gun control, and cleaning the pistol.
To pass and earn a certificate, you should be able to pass a written examination with minimum of 80%, and shot 5 shot groups within a 4 inch circle at 3, 5, and 7 tards. Upon completing the course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion.
NRA Basic CCW/Conceal Carry Course
Colorado CHP/Concealed Handgun Permit
Skill Level: Advanced
Course Length: Approx. 8 hours - 7 hours classroom, 1 hour range time.
Cost: $150/person, $250/couple, includes the NRA Guide: CCW/Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home, range fees, and exam.
This course meets the 8 hour training requirements to obtain a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit. Students will learn the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. The course topics include: firearm safety (mandatory), pistol nomenclature and selecting a pistol for self defense, basic defensive pistol skills, drawing from concealment, loading and stoppage remediation, mindset, carry modes and pistol concealment, and firearm cleaning.
A minimum score of 80% on the written and 70% on the shooting is required to pass. Shooting distances are 3, 5, 7, and 15 yards. Upon completion students will receive an NRA certificate if a member and/or a certificate for the Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit Training.
Colorado CHP/Concealed Handgun Permit 2 Hour Continuing Education Course (Colorado Required for Renewal)
Skill Level: Advanced.
2 Hours (Time May Run Slightly Longer) - 1 hour classroom, 1 hour range time.
Cost: $75 person, $125/couple, includes course materials and range time.
The course covers the Colorado required safety training and shooting qualification for renewing a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit. A minimum score of 80% on the written and 70% on the shooting is required to pass. Shooting distances are 3, 5, 7, and 15 yards.
NRA Defensive Pistol Course
Skill Level: Advanced.
Course Length: 8 hours planned over 2 days, 5 hours classroom & 3 hours range time.
Cost: $200/person, $350/couple - includes all classroom materials, targets, range time.
This is an advanced course, the NRA Basic Pistol Course is a prerequisite for this course, the NRA CCW Course or a Colorado CHP Course & Permit is preferred.
The course covers the safe handling of handguns in a concealed and defensive application. The range portion requires a minimum of 200 rounds. The course is objective based with extensive shooting. All of the shooting is at an outdoor range, so the weather may be a factor for scheduling.
NRA Pistol Marksmanship Simulator Training
Skill Level: All skill levels from beginner to expert.
Course Length - 2 Hours.
Cost: $45 person, $75/couple.
* No live firearms or ammunition is used in this course. This is LASER pistol based.
This course teaches gun safety and safe gun handling, the basic knowledge and attitude necessary to learn pistol marksmanship using a laser pistol and state of the art shot indicating software.
Upon completion, students will receive a certificate of Completion.
Advanced Laser Pistol Marksmanship Simulator Training
Skill Level: All levels.
Course Length: 2-3 hours.
Cost: $65/person, $110/couple.
* No live firearms or ammunition is used in this course.
This course combines the basic NRA course with an advance version simulator course designed by Gun Savvy. The laser pistol used in this course is a Glock 17 based frame and simulates recoil with each shot. There is a variety of target shapes that are scaled to simulate different distances. Shoot - no shoot scenarios, competition stages, along with speed stages can all be designed. Great practice while saving ammo.
NRA Metallic Cartridge Reloading Course
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.
Course Length: Approx. 8 hours.
Cost: $150 person. The cost includes the NRA Guide to Reloading Handbook and all of the materials required to perform the actual reloading process. This is not a live fire course.
This course teaches beginning reloaders or those who are interested in the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to safely reload metallic cartridges.
Each student will be taught reloading safety, centerfire cartridge components, understanding a reloading manual and data, equipment, and the basic process. Student will reload both 9mm and .223 cartridges to take home.
Upon completing the course and passing the basic reloading examination, students will receive an NRA Certificate of Completion.
Customized Training
Skill Level: Can be designed for any training level.
Course Length: Varies by the type of training the customer/student requests.
Cost: Varies by the customers/students needs and or requirements/requests.
Customized training is normally conducted at an outdoor range allowing shooters a chance to shoot a wider course/stage encompassing a shooting area of up to 180 degrees. Range fees, targets, and range equipment is supplied. Customers are responsible for providing their own firearm, ammo. shooting equipment (holster mag pouches, etc.) and eye and ear protection.
